Terms of Service

Effective date: October 12, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Jack Barron, doing business as Chants ("Chants," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using Chants, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Chants.

Who can use Chants

You must be at least 18 years old to use Chants. By creating an account, you confirm that you are. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it. One person, one account.

Zero tolerance for abuse

Trash talk about teams and players is the point of Chants. Abuse of people is not. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post or send:

• Threats, harassment, bullying, or encouragement of violence or self-harm.
• Hate speech or attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits.
• Sexual content, nudity, or any content that sexualizes minors.
• Other people's private information, such as addresses, phone numbers or private photos.
• Spam, scams, or misleading links.
• Content that impersonates Chants, a team, a league, a player or another person.
• Content you don't have the right to share, including other people's photos, videos or logos.
• Anything illegal, or anything promoting illegal activity.

Handles follow the same rules, and handles that impersonate official teams or Chants are not allowed.

Reporting, blocking and enforcement

You can report any Take or user and block any user in the app. We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours by removing it and, where appropriate, removing the user who posted it.

We may remove content, limit features, suspend or permanently remove accounts that break these Terms, at our discretion and without notice. If you think we made a mistake, email support@joinchants.com.

Your content

You own the Takes and other content you post. By posting, you give Chants a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute your content to run and promote Chants. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already shared it or where we keep records as described in our Privacy Policy.

You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

Sports data and teams

Scores, schedules and game information come from third-party providers and may be delayed or inaccurate. Don't rely on Chants for betting or any financial decision.

Chants is an independent fan app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the NBA or any team, league or player. Team names are used only to identify teams.

Using Chants properly

Don't misuse Chants: no scraping, bots, automated posting, attempts to break or overload the service, attempts to access other people's accounts, or reverse engineering the app.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app. What happens to your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to Chants and these Terms

Chants is new, and features will change. We may add, change or remove features at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll update the effective date and let you know in the app. Continuing to use Chants after that means you accept the updated Terms.

Disclaimers

Chants is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don't guarantee Chants will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content on it is accurate. Content posted by users is their own opinion, not ours.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Chants won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Chants is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Chants is currently free.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.

Apple App Store

If you downloaded Chants from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and Chants, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Chants and is not responsible for any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
